Manjinder Singh Sirsa: Kangana Ranaut's derogatory words against farmers and their families have hurt millions of Indians

New Delhi, December 8, 2020 : The Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management committee (DSGMC) has filed a criminal case against film actress Kangana Ranaut for promoting enmity between different groups and incite communal harmony.

Disclosing this in a statement released here today, the DSGMC President Mr. Manjinder Singh Sirsa disclosed that complaint has been filed with  PS North Avenue police New Delhi. He said that Kangana wants to promote enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, face, place of birth, residence language etc. He said that her assertions are pre judicial to national integration and doing acts prejudicial to maintainance of harmony, deliberate and malicious acts intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs and for making statements conducing to public mischief. The DSGMC has sought action against her u/s 153 A, 153 B, 295 A and 505 (I) (b) of the IPCR/WS of 66 the IT act 2000.

He said that  the accused on December 5, 2020  published  an extremely derogatory tweet on her twitter handle which seeks to promote communal disharmony by labeling the hard-working farmers who are currently on a large scale peaceful agitation/ protest against the recently legislated Farm Bills as “Khalistani terrorists” thereby hurting the sentiments of thousands of farmers across the country.

Mr. Sirsa said that the accused person has not expressed any apology or clarification regarding the above mentioned tweet published by the accused person on her twitter handle and has even failed to deny the said statement and unfortunately it has been read over by millions of people, not only in India but worldwide.  He said that  the abovementioned tweet is a grave threat to the peace, unity and integrity of India, especially in view of the sensitive atmosphere subsisting in the country as of today with lakhs of farmers on the roads protesting against the following Farm Bills.

The DSGMC President said that the accused person has alienated one section of the population, i.e. the peaceful protesting farmers by imputing that they do not bear true faith and allegiance to the Constitution of India or uphold the sovereignty and integrity of India which amounts to leaving them vulnerable to violent acts.

He also said that the accused person had on 29.11.2020 had also tweeted/ re-tweeted to defame the farmers, protestors, activists involved in the "Kissan Andolan"/ Farmers agitation relating to the peaceful protests in Delhi/NCR.

He sought immediate action against the accused based on evidence before the law enforcing agencies and the law of courts.
