Mehr Singh : 16 Year Old Sikh Student Builds Mini Tractor With Bike Engine

Mehr Singh, a 16-year-old son of farmer Dilbag Sandhu of Dhani Tahliwali village of Ratia in Fatehabad district, built a tractor with a motorcycle engine.

After completion of  class X ,Mehar Singh  took admission in ITI in village Bhirdana. He is currently a student of Diesel Mechanical.

Six months ago, when the lockdown started , Mehar Singh  had enough free time. During this time he came with  an idea to do something inspirational  for other people. he expressed his desire to his family to make a tractor.


Mehr Singh said that it has cost him forty thousand rupees to make this tractor. It took five months to make this tractor. He had an old motorcycle. So he Pulled out its engine and took chance to try practically what he had learned in ITI. Some parts were needed which were easily found in the market. He has also prepared the body of this mini tractor himself.

This tractor has an engine of 125 cc bike which can carry up to five quintals of weight from one place to another. This will prove to be effective in transporting fodder, manure, seeds etc. to the farmer usually for the animals.

Fatehabad Mayor Anubhav Mehta said that the model created by student Mehr Singh is extremely brilliant. Every possible support will be given to such talented youth by the administration.
