Iqbal Singh Bhatti: The Indian Embassy in France Honored Social Activist On Independence Day

Iqbal Singh Bhatti, President of Urr-Dawn, a human rights organization and Chief Administrator of Gurdwara Sant Baba Prem Singh La-Cornwall, France, has been awarded by the Government of India, Javed Akhtar (Embassy of India in France) for his social services.)


74th  Independence Day Celebrations At Indian Embassy in France.Indian Ambassador Jawed Ashraf unfurled the national flag and read out President's address. He also felicitated members of Indian community for their humanitarian services extended during the time of Covid-19.

It is pertinent to mention here that during the Coronation period, when every man was thinking of saving himself, in that hour of difficulty, Iqbal Singh Bhatti, a prominent French social worker, was visiting hospitals to save the lives of the people.

 From March to June 2020, he cremated eleven Indians with his own hands  and saved lives of forty Indians by providing timely treatment to them, which is a record in itself.

 Sardar Bhatti has sent 177 bodies from 2003 till date, of which 82 have been sent to India with the help of the Indian Embassy and the rest with the help of the Sikh community in France. In addition, 253 illegal Indians have been voluntarily repatriated to India by their parents, including 11 crippled, lame and blind people.

According to the French Sikhs, Bhatti really deserved this honor Despite being fifty-five years old and a diabetic, he has rendered selfless service to humanity at the risk of his own life which can never be forgotten.
