DSGMC:"Guru Tegh Bahadur Civil Services Academy" for Sikh Students Wishing to Go Into Civil Services


                 

                     

Concerned over the declining number of Sikh officers in the civil services in the country, the Delhi Gurdwara Management Committee has announced the launch of a major project with the intention of increasing the number of Sikhs in the bureaucracy.

Giving information in this regard to the media,  Mr. Manjinder Singh Sirsa ,President of DSGMC informed that important projects are being started for the eligible candidates with the intention of increasing the number of Sikh officers.

Under the project, Guru Tegh Bahadur Civil Services Academy is being opened which is being inaugurated on October 3 at Mata Sundari College Campus. He informed that for the first time in the country such a project is being started for Sikh students.

Under this project, by coaching Sikh students from the top coaching institutes of the country in Delhi, every year with the help of Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Committee, at least 20 Sikh officers will be ensured to be selected in the civil services. "We want the number of Sikh officers wearing turbans to be as maximum as possible," he said.

"Under this scheme, we will bear 85 per cent of the cost for such Sikh students and also provide 100 per cent funding for economically weaker Sikh students," he said.Sikh students who have passed the prelims or have to give papers will be entitled to avail benefits under the scheme.

In the coming time, preparation of civil services will be started by selecting talented Sikh children from schools and colleges.  All our projects have been successful so far and this project will also be successful.

He informed that in implementing the idea of ​​opening Guru Tegh Bahadur Civil Services Academy, contribution of former IAS N.S. Kalsi, Lieutenant General Gurmeet Singh and former IAS Gurdarshan Singh is appreciable. 

Honorable Vikramjit Singh Sahni has given a check of Rs. 21 lakh for this project.

General Secretary of DSGMC informed that for registration under this project, form can be downloaded from the website of Delhi Gurdwara Committee or resume can be sent by an e-mail to civilservices@dsgmc.in. The team of Delhi Gurdwara Committee will personally contact such Sikh students.

He informed that apart from this project, three separate coaching centers are being started under the same name for coaching of C category services like Income Tax Inspector etc. within the three colleges of the committee. He informed that online services will be started at the centers soon.
