Manjinder Singh Sirsa :Pakistan Government Trying to Help Black Hats Who Are Trying To Convert Bhai Taru Singh ji Shaheedi Asthan

                           Mr. Manjinder Singh Sirsa,President,DSGMC

New Delhi, July 28 : The Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee President and National Spokesman of the Shiromani Akali Dal Mr. Manjinder Singh Sirsa today said that the Pakistan Government is trying to help black hats who are trying to convert Bhai Taru Singh ji Shaheedi Asthan Gurudwara into a mosque.

In a statement released here today, Mr. Sirsa said that it is shocking to see that the Pakistan Government has blamed Indian Media for defaming it. He said that instead of listening to the voice of its own citizens particularly Sikhs and  Evacuee Trust Property Board, the Government of Pakistan is trying to help out those black hats who are on a spree to damage religious places of the minority community.

He said that the Pakistan Sikh Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee (PSGPC) Chief Mr. Satwant Singh has gone on record in a viral video in which he has disclosed how attempts are being made to convert pious place into a mosque by miscreants.

Apart from it Evacuee Trust Property Board Secretary Sanjqullah Khan has written to DIG (ops) Lahore about one Sohail Butt/Attari s/o Salah ud Din Butt local resident of Lahore so called focal person of Darbar Hazrat Shah Kaku Chisti has tried to defame Pakistan by uploading a baseless propaganda video against Sikh community of Pakistan, PSGPC & ETP Board.

He has also given a DVD of the said footage to the police and sought action against the guilty. But instead of  taking note of this, the Pakistan Government is trying to help out black hats who are promoted by desperate radicals who are always active against Minority Communities in Pakistan. He said that it is more shocking to see that those who want to convert this sacred place into a mosque are demanding proof of Shaheedi of Bhai Taru Singh. He asked ‘Do Sikhs need to prove what sacrifices they made in the land which is now part of Pakistan ?’

He also said that it has been 11 months since when Jagjit Kaur daughter of Head Granthi is languishing in jail only because she has refused to marry a Muslim man. He said that Sikhs which always worked to save daughters of even enemies, now have to keep safe their daughters in Pakistan out of fear of their abduction. He also question whether these are facilities which the Pakistan Government was claiming to provide to minorities.

Mr. Sirsa urged the Prime Minister Mr. Imran Khan to awake from deep slumber and order action against the guilty who are trying to convert Shaheedi Asthan of Bhai Taru Singh ji into a mosque and threatened Sikh community and also take steps to ensure safety and security of minorities in his country.

'Punjabi in New South Wales Schools': Parents Urged To EncourageCchildren To Grab The Chance To Learn

Acting on its commitment to teaching languages other than English, the NSW government has now developed a syllabus for students keen to learn and develop their skills in Punjabi.

In 2017, the NSW Department of Education undertook a collaborative curriculum project with the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) to draft Punjabi syllabus for students through kindergarten and year 10, after the state government gave its nod to teaching the language in public schools.
Mona Sidhu, a Sydney-based science teacher and language enthusiast told SBS Punjabi that the process which began in February 2018 has now concluded and the draft syllabuses for all years are now available on the NESA website.
Anyone who is already recognised to teach in NSW schools and is willing to teach can teach the language provided they have studied Punjabi until graduation.

Editorial IN Afghanistan Times: Extremely Heartbreaking

The existence of several ethnics, religions and languages in a society indicate the unity and love among the citizens with painting a great image of beauty of a unified nation. Afghanistan is one of those rare countries in the region that has several religions, ethnics and languages. Besides the Pashtons, Tajikis, Hazaras, Uzbek and etc…there is some other minorities also living in the country.

Two of these rare beauties in Afghanistan are the Hindus and Sikhs who have been living since ages in the country. But unfortunately throughout the history, they have been oppressed and treated cruelly during the longest conflicts in Afghanistan.

Recently an attack conducted by the Islamic State (IS) also known as Daesh on the Sikhs’ temple in downtown Kabul, killed at least 25 Sikhs including women and children and wounded eight others. The attack faced widespread condemnation by the Afghan and foreign officials, but such acts would not cure their pain after they lost a member of their family. The consecutive deadly attacks and threats forced these minorities to consider leaving Afghanistan – a country they have called home for centuries.

As expected Delhi become the first country to officially announce the endorsement of visa and permanent asylum for the Afghan Sikhs and Hindus in India. On Sunday 26th July, the first batch of 11 Afghan Sikhs and Hindus left Kabul for Delhi to seek a permanent asylum there. However most of those Afghan Sikhs and Hindus, who left Afghanistan, promised to returned back home if the security become tighten that their lives would be no longer at risk. They have been having a very sound and peaceful relations with every other tribe in the country.

The Afghan Sikhs and Hindus mainly worked in the educational centers and some of them were engaged into personal business in the past. But recently, they have been faded in Afghanistan. Losing such peaceful minorities is a great lost for Afghanistan. It is so disappointed that we could not support them or embrace such a minor ethnic, which was considered as a main beauty of national unity in our country.

The Afghan government failed to protect them. For the ordinary Afghans, it is really painful to see this happening. Extremely heartbreaking, hope a day will come that all Afghans irrespective of their religious, ethnic, political and linguistic affiliations will be able to live peacefully in Afghanistan without the fear of discrimination and intimidation. It’s of great concern that billions of dollars expended on Afghan democracy and the result is that…

Gagandeep Singh Khalsa Fell Into the North Saskatchewan River While Posing For Photos Near The Edge of The River With a Mountain in The Background

Gagandeep Singh Khalsa is pictured near the North Saskatchewan River (His Last Picture)
Members of Calgary’s Sikh community are in shock as a search continues for Gagandeep Singh Khalsa. Friends say he fell into the North Saskatchewan River near the Glacier Lake Trail in Banff National Park.
The young man was posing for photos near the edge of the river with a mountain in the background when it’s believed he fell. That was the last time his friends saw him.

Gagandeep was travelling to Jasper, Alta., with two other friends when they stopped to hike the Glacier Lake Trail just after 6 p.m.
At a bridge on the trail, Khalsa scrambled down to the river’s edge, friends said.

“One of his friends was standing on the bridge and he asked him to take his picture,” Parmeet Singh Boparai told Global News Monday. “His friend took his picture and his friend turned his back to take another picture. Then he heard some noises from the back.”
Khalsa’s hiking companions said they turned around and saw hands waving from the water.

“They jumped into the water trying to rescue [Khalsa], but they couldn’t find him,” Boparai said.

“The only thing they got was his turban. His turban was floating. They pulled out his turban and left it on the side to show the rescue team where it was.”

The two remaining hikers ran up to Highway 93 looking for help after they discovered they had no cell phone signal. They were able to call 9-1-1 from the nearby Saskatchewan River Crossing.

Evacuee Trust Property Board of Pakistan Has Taken A Stern Stand Against The Communalist Mindset of Sohail Bhatt Attari

Pakistan’s Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB), a state-run body responsible for the management of shrines of religious minorities, on Monday asked police to take “strict disciplinary action” against a Lahore resident named Sohail Butt Attari, who was allegedly behind efforts to “provoke people against the historical Gurdwara Taro Singh and occupy the attached vacant plot in Landa Bazar”.

A letter written by ETPB to the police, which was released by Pakistani officials, also accused Attari of trying to “defame Pakistan by uploading a baseless propaganda video” against the Sikh minority and the Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee. It described the committee as the “only official representative regulatory body” for Pakistani Sikhs.

The letter further said Attari’s video was being used by Indian media to damage Pakistan’s image and that “multiple conspiracies” were being hatched after the successful opening of the Kartarpur Corridor last year.
Gurdwara Shahidi Asthan Bhai Taru Ji

Gurdwara Shahidi Asthan Bhai Taru Ji is a historical gurdwara where Bhai Taru Ji made supreme sacrifice in 1745. The gurdwara is a place of reverence and considered sacred by the Sikh community. This incident has been viewed with grave concern in India.

There have been calls for justice for the minority Sikh community in Pakistan. India has expressed its concerns, in strongest terms on this incident and called upon Pakistan to investigate the matter and take immediate remedial measures.
