High level
delegation of Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee met the Ministry of
External Affairs led by Manjinder Singh Sirsa and raised the issue of managing
Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib to non-Sikh Committee.
New Delhi, 5 November: A high-level delegation of DSGMC under the leadership of Mr.Manjinder Singh Sirsa,President DSGMC met with Ministry of External Affairs to took up the matter of handing over the Project Management Unit (Non-Sikh Committee) of the historic Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib by Government of Pakistan.
Manjinder Singh Sirsa said that it is strange how Government of Pakistan under Evacuee Trust Propriety Board (ETPB) has handed over the management to a non-Sikh committee which has no knowledge of Sikh Rahat dignity.
Manjinder Singh Sirsa told Mr. JP Singh, Joint Secretary in the External Affairs Ministry and in-charge of Pakistan DASK, that Pakistan Governments's strategy of discrimination, persecution and terror is being created among the minorities repeatedly.
Earlier this management used to look after the four-member committee of ETPB with the presence of Mahindrapal Singh, Gopal Chawla, Ravi Kumar and Sunnenala Route. Now they were excluded from ETPB and non-Sikhs are included.
Government of Pakistan is telling that Gurdwara is business models which is completely wrong and not acceptable.
We strongly condemn this decision of the Government of Pakistan as it is a direct intervention in the case of Gurdwaras which is a very sensitive matter for Sikh Community.
He appealed to
the ministry to take care of the sentiments of Sikh Community. Matter
should be immediately taken up and management of
Gurudwara Shri Kartarpur Sahib should again be handed over to the Pakistan Sikh
Gurdwara Committee .
Apart from the
others, Gurudwara Committee General Secretary Harmeet Singh Kalka, Senior Vice
President Bibi Ranjit Kaur, Joint Secretary Harvinder Singh KP, Advisor
Paramjit Singh Chandok were also present on the occasion.
