We salute to the great soldiers who sacrificed for INDIA

We Salute to the Great Indian Soldiers :

Sh. Hemant Karkare

Sh. Vijay Salasker

Sh. Ashok Kamte

Sh. Sandeep Unikrishnan

and others, who sacrificed for the Mother India in the Mumbai Terrorist attack.

It's pity, that those, hitting a shot, in the bull, get Crores from government and those getting a shot in chest get a few lakhs, which is not even sufficient for the families to survive.

Singapore Sikh Celebrations

SINGAPORE SIKHS CELEBRATE 300TH GURGADDI DAY WITH A TAKHAT SACHKHAND SRI HAZUR SAHIB FLOAT PARADE
Thousands of Sikhs gathered at the various Gurdwaras of Singapore on the 18th and 19th of October in commemoration of 300 years establishment of the holy scripture and living Guru of the Sikhs, the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji (SGGS). The 10th Guru of the Sikhs, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji passed the Gurgaddi (guruship) to the SGGS at the .location where today stands Takhat Sachkhand Sri Hazur Sahib, a Gurdwara on the banks of the Godavari in Maharashtra. A replica of the Gurdwara was created in the form of a float for the occasion, which was celebrated majestically by the Sangat (congregation) of Singapore.
“The idea of creating a fully scaled float replica of Takhat Sachkhand Sri Hazur Sahib was conceived in early March this year; and real work stated in June. The design was done using photographs and videos of the actual Gurdwara and took about 2 weeks to create and the actual construction of the float took about 4 weeks to complete,” said Gurdip Singh, Chairman of the Silat Road Sikh Temple (a unit of the Central Sikh Gurdwara Board). The astounding creation was done Richard Tang, a Chinese float designer and constructor. The float drew in crowds from all ages, ethnicities, and even religions. “Handicapped and other elderly believers all joined in the celebrations in getting a glimpse of the holy site,” said Singh.
Organized by the Central Sikh Gurdwara Board in conjunctions with all Sikh Gurdwaras in Singapore, the float traveled on Oct 19 from the Silat Road Gurdwara to the all the seven Gurdwaras of Singapore, namely, Gurdwara Sahib Yishun Sahib, Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Khalsa Dharmak Sabha, Central Sikh Temple, Pardesi Khalsa, Gurdwara Katong and finally making its way back to the Silat Road Gurdwara.
The magnitude of respect shown towards their living Guru by the Sangat is immeasurable as they stood in long lines to enter the float, bowing their heads in respect and love for the SGGS, which was instated in the float. In anticipation of the float at the Gurdwaras, sevadaars (volunteers participating in selfless service) swept and washed the streets in preparation for the arrival of their Living Guru.
The Singapore Sikh Community also launched a book “Sikhi – A Way of Life” in conjunction with this auspicious occasion. The Guest of Honour at these celebrations was Prof S. Jayakumar, Deputy Prime Minister of Singapore.

How to project Sikhs in movies & TV serials ?

Do you think, a few trimmers in the Sikh community can be treated as the face of the Panth Khalsa ? Do you think, Sikhs like to be projected as funny characters in movies or TV serials ? Do you think, there must be a basic code of conduct for projecting Sikhs in movies ? Do you think we have a right to ask SGPC , DSGMC & Dharam prachar committees, that what they have done in this regard. Please mail us your comments.

Singh is King ?

Thanks to Singh is king, the sikh trimmers have got a new fashion of french cut beard. Those responsible to promote sikhi, are approving such films and indirectly promoting the culture of trimmers and cutsirds in the community. Dont you think that there must be a code of conduct for projecting sikhs in films ? But when our sikh leaders are not following any code of conduct, what we can expect from others. When our own kids are converting into trimmers and cutsirds,
how can we blame Akshay or Daler or Bhajji and many others.

A forced turban ?

While the Sikhs are facing racial discrimination all over the world, on account of the Kada, the beard, the turban and so on, it is quite surprising that in the heart of Punjab, an Akal academy, in Sangrur is forcing non sikhs to wear a turban in its schools. The SGPC must take a strong action so that its no more repeated. No forced turban please.

SIKHS APOLOGIZE TO MUMBAI

The shaheedi of Sardar Balkar singh ji in Mumbai will be remembered by one & all. We cant understand why Govt has given the Z plus security to Mr. Ram Rahim, who has dozens of cases pending against him.

But shocked to find the Sikh youths with naked swords, hitting the railway stations & Buses and disturbing the normal life of Mumbai.

May i ask from the Sikh community that was it sensible ?

Dont you think that we forced Mr.Thackeray to issue a warning to the Sikh community ?

What do you say on the news that Sikhs apologize to Mumbai for brandishing swords during recent protests ?

Cant we have any other way of protests where all the other communities can also join us against Ram Rahim ?

Looking forward for your most valued comments.
