GURU Nanak Sar Gurdwara is very
pleased to reopen the Sikh Temple, in Margate Road, today (Saturday, July 4) at
11am.
Worshippers have been in constant
contact with our volunteers for updates on the gurdwara and their well being.
We are particularly grateful to Srd: Gurbax Singh who has made himself available for consultation
for worshippers to speak with him for their peace of mind.
But a very big thank you to all
volunteers who contributed to the clean up and reopening.
Parshad offerings will be
available, however we remind you the Langar will not be served at present. We
will keep you informed when the Guru Ka Langar will be resumed.
May we humbly ask no food stuffs
are brought for offering as parshad.
A new regime will now be in place
and we would like to assure everyone who will be coming to the Guru Ghar your
welfare is of the utmost importance. Thanks to our committee member Khalsa
Jogga Singh Digpal who has prepared a phased reopening document to aid our
patrons, available for your perusal.
We are also very pleased to
announce Portsmouth Gurdwara has been participating with the nationally
recognised organisations Gurdwara Aid, British Sikh Council, Gurdwara Bhat Sikh
Council, and other temples in redesigning the protocol which all the
organisations will probably adopt.
This is a global situation and
perhaps this is something which may be a positive reminder of the importance
religion plays in our lives.
With
the direction given by the government, Guru NanakSar Gurdwara Portsmouth will
be available for all services normally available from the Parbandhak Committee.https://www.portsmouth.co.uk/news/opinion/columnists/portsmouth-sikh-temples-phased-reopening-begins-2903517
