The Commisisonerate
Police led by CP Gurpreet Singh Bhullar has taken several measures for
sensitizing the people about the safety measures including wearing masks
properly, maintaining two-yard distancing and washing hands frequently in their
day to day activities to contain the further spread of the coronavirus.
The awareness
activities through audio-video mediums, online painting competitions,live
interactions by the staff of Sanjh Kendras along with the volunteers of Nehru
Yuva Kendras keeping in view social distancing and others were efficaciously
undertaken by Commissionerate Police.
According to an
official spokesperson, the Jalandhar Commisisonerate was also frontrunner
in the state for ensuing welfare of the cops deputed on the frontline duty to check
Covid-19 by ensuring personal hygiene with distributing new uniforms, masks,
gloves, hand sanitizers, PPE kits, face shields, oximeters and were provided
protein and nutrient rich diet including fruits, milk, lassi, juice, egg and
others to boost their immunity.
The Commissionerate
Police distributed 572417 food packets as langar and gave 44663 dry ration
packets to needy people in these trying circumstances of COVID-19 pandemic.
The Police have also
taken stern action against the violators who did not wear mask and have so far
issued 19588 challans in this regard with collection of fine worth Rs 91.39
lakh (till July 18).
The Commissioner of
Police also envisioned that the 'Mission Fateh' launched by the Punjab Chief
Minister Captain Amarinder Singh had been proving as a catalyst for the revival
of the state from this tough time.
Bhullar said that as
per experts, the wearing of mask can reduce the chances of infections to 75
percent and all of us must wear masks to supress the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Meanwhile, the CP
Bhullar called upon people to proactively participate in Mission Fateh warriors
campaign, which was a social movement for the people, of the people and by the
people.
He pointed out that the
Mission Fateh would immensely help in creating a positive atmosphere across the
state thereby tackling this global pandemic successfully.
He attributed the award
to the leadership of CM Capt Amarinder Singh, Punjab DGP Dinkar Gupta and hard
work and dedication of his team members.
