Corona lockout in the state has caused outcry among people in
the state as shopkeepers have been selling groceries at arbitrary rates and
looting. To prevent this looting, the Sikh Right Society opened a Grocery Store in the name of Guru Nanak at Fatehgarh Sahib.
There are about 70 grocery
items available which are being distributed to the customers at a profit of 1%
from the wholesale groceries.
Simranjit Singh, Manager, Modikhana, said that
the goods being sold in the market are being offered at a reduced rate of 20
to 25 per cent. He said that more items are being added in the coming days. He
said that he has about 12 employees and he is taking 1% profit from wholesale
goods to pay electricity and shop rent etc.
