DSGMC serves legal notice to Kangana Ranaut over
derogatory tweets against farmer agitation and old mothers
Manjinder Singh Sirsa: DSGMC will file legal case if she do not tenders apology within a week :
Delhi Sikh Gurdwara
Management Committee (DSGMC) has sent a legal notice to Bollywood actress
Kangana Ranaut over her derogatory recent tweets on farmer’s protest and
demanded immediate apology from her.
In a notice sent through its lawyer Raj Kamal, the DSGMC President Mr. Manjinder singh Sirsa said that she has tweeted/retweeted to defame farmers, protesters, activists involved in the ‘Kisan Andolan’ farmers agitation relating to the peaceful protests in the Delhi/NCR.
In this tweet/retweet she has uploaded photograph/collage of two old
women. He said that that tone and tenor of the tweet by her was highly
derogatory and defamatory. In this tweet she has said that Daadi/Old woman is
available in Rs.100/- per day but she also laughed and mocked the old women at
the farmers agitation and labeled it as motivated and sponsored campaign.
DSGMC President said that we demand that she
should tender an unconditional apology to the farmers and issue a clarification
thereby unequivocally withdrawing the said tweet/retweet within a period of one week from the receipt of this notice.
He further said that if she fails to do so
within a week that the DSGMC will without any further notice shall be
constrained to initiate all appropriate legal actions under the law.
It is worth mentioning ,here, that Kangana had not
only defamed farmer agitations and described them as anti national activity but
also claimed that old woman at farmer protest was Bilkis Bani who had protested
against CAA at Shaheen Bagh whereas fact of the matter is that she is Mata
Mohinder Kaur from Bathinda village who had come in support of farmers and she
herself is a farmer.
