ਨਵੀਂ ਦਿੱਲੀ, 20 ਦਸੰਬਰ : ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਦਲ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਸ੍ਰ ਸੁਖਬੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਬਾਦਲ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਹੇਠ ਇਕ ਉਚਪੱਧਰੀ ਵਫਦ ਨੇ ਅੱਜ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਹਾਈ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਨਾਲ ਮੁਲਾਕਾਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਤੇ ਉੱਤਰ ਪੱਛਮੀ ਸਰਹੱਦੀ ਸੂਬੇ ਵਿਚਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਬਰੀ ਇਸਲਾਮ ਧਰਮ ਅਪਣਾਉਣ ਦੇ ਮਾਮਲਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਤੋਂ ਤੁਰੰਤ ਦਖਲ ਦੀ ਮੰਗਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬੰਦ ਕਰਵਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਮੰਗ ਕੀਤੀ।

ਇਸ ਵਫਦ ਵਿਚ ਮੈਂਬਰ ਪਾਰਲੀਮੈਂਟ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬਲਵਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਭੂੰਦੜ, ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਘੱਟ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਸਾਬਕਾਚੇਅਰਮੈਨ ਸ੍ਰ ਤਰਲੋਚਨ ਸਿੰਘ, ਦਿੱਲੀ ਸਿੱਖ ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਕ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਮਨਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ. ਕੇ. ਅਤੇਦਿੱਲੀ ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਾ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਦੇ ਜਨਰਲ ਸਕੱਤਰ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਮਨਜਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਸਿਰਸਾ ਅੱਤੇ ਸ.ਪਰਮਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਚੰਢੋਕ,ਕਾਰਜਕਾਰੀ ਮੇਂਬਰ  ਵੀ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਸਨ।

ਇਸ ਵਫਦ ਨੇ  ਹਾਈ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਬਰੀ ਇਸਲਾਮ ਧਰਮ ਕਬੂਲਣ ਲਈ ਦਬਾਅ ਪਾਉਣ ਦੀਥਾਂ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਬਹਾਦਰ ਸਿੱਖ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਨਮਾਨ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ 1947 ਵਿਚਭਾਰਤ ਆਉਣ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿਣ ਨੂੰ ਤਰਜੀਹ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿੰਡਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਆਪਣੀਆਂਜਾਨਾਂ ਜੋਖ਼ਮ ਵਿਚ ਪਾਈਆਂ। 

ਵਫਦ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਮੰਗ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਵਿਚ ਕਸੂਰਵਾਰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਖਿਲਾਫ ਬਿਨਾਂਦੇਰੀ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਯਕੀਨੀ ਬਣਾਈ ਜਾਵੇ।  ਇਸਨੇ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਮੰਗਕੀਤੀ ਕਿ ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਕ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਦੇ ਇਕ ਵਫਦ ਨੂੰ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਣ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਵਾਨਗੀ ਦਿੱਤੀਜਾਵੇ।

ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬਾਦਲ ਨੇ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਹਾਈ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਦੇ ਧਿਆਨ ਵਿਚ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਲਿਆਂਦਾ  ਕਿ  ਸ੍ਰੀ ਅਕਾਲ ਤਖਤ ਸਾਹਿਬਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਰਵਉਚ ਅਦਾਲਤ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਇਸ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਇਤਿਹਾਸਕ ਸਿੱਖ ਸਮਾਗਮਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ  ਤੈਅ ਤਾਰੀਕਾਂ ਹੀ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਨਣੀਆਂ ਚਾਹੀਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।  

ਉਹਨਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਮਾਮਲਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਦੁਫੇੜ ਪੁਆਉਣਦੀ ਥਾਂ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਨਾਲ ਸਲਾਹ ਮਸ਼ਵਰਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਇਹ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦੀਚੁਣੀ ਹੋਈ ਸਰਵ ਉਚ ਸੰਸਥਾ ਹੈ।  ਉਹਨਾਂ ਅਫਸੋਸ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਕੁਝ ਅਣਚੁਣੇ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਨਿਧਾਂ ਦੇ ਛੋਟੇ ਜਿਹੇ ਟੋਲੇ ਨੂੰਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਤਰਜੀਹ ਦੇ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਅਪੀਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਿ  ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਬੰਧਤ ਮਾਮਲਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਲਲਈ ਸਿਰਫ ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਸਲਾਹ ਮਸ਼ਵਰਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇ।

ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਹਾਈ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਨੇ ਮਿਲਣ ਆਏ ਵਫਦ ਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਸਥਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਦੇ ਇਕ ਅਫਸਰ ਦੀ ਸਿੱਖਾਂਨਾਲ ਤਲਖ ਕਲਾਮੀ ਹੋਈ ਸੀ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਉਕਤ ਅਫਸਰ ਨੂੰ ਇਤਰਾਜ਼ਯੋਗ ਸ਼ਬਦਾਵਲੀ ਵਰਤਣ 'ਤੇ ਤੁਰੰਤਮੁਅੱਤਲ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਦੀ ਪੜਤਾਲ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਇਕ ਉਚ ਪੱਧਰੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਗਠਿਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈਜਿਸਨੂੰ ਜਲਦੀ ਤੋਂ ਜਲਦੀ ਰਿਪੋਰਟ ਸੌਂਪਣ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। 

ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਵਫਦ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਵੱਖ ਵੱਖ ਮੁਲਕਾਂਵਿਚ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਦੁਆ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਸਿੱਖ  ਦੇਸ਼ ਦਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰਇਸ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਵਿਚ ਕਦੇ ਮੁਸ਼ਕਿਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਣ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ।

ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬਾਦਲ ਨੇ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਹਾਈ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਦਾ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਕੀਤਾ ਤੇ ਆਸ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਕੀਤ ਕਿ ਸਿੱਖ ਭਾਈਚਾਰੇ ਦੇ ਮੈਂਬਰਬਿਨਾਂ ਖੌਫ ਤੇ ਨਫਰਤ ਦੇ ਉਸ ਮੁਲਕ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿ ਸਕਣਗੇ ਤੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਅਕਾਲ ਤਖਤ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਦਿਸ਼ਾ ਨਿਰਦੇਸਾਂ ਮੁਤਾਬਕਸਿੱਖ ਤਿਓਹਾਰ ਮਨਾ ਸਕਣਗੇ।

ਇਸ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬਾਦਲ ਨੇ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਸ੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਸੁਸ਼ਮਾ ਸਵਰਾਜ ਕੋਲ ਵੀ ਇਹ ਮਾਮਲਾ ਉਠਾਇਆ ਜਿਹਨਾਂ ਨੇਅਕਾਲੀ ਦਲ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਦੁਆਇਆ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਕੋਲ ਢੁਕਵੇਂ ਪੱਧਰ  'ਤੇ ਇਹ ਮਾਮਲਾਉਠਾਉਣਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਮੁਲਕ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਹਰ ਹੀਲੇ ਯਕੀਨੀ ਬਣਾਈ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ। PR

Gurdwara Nada Sahib to host 3-day event

PANCHKULA: For the 351st Parkash Utsav of Guru Gobind Singh, a three-day festival would be celebrated at Gurdwara Nada Sahib from December 23 to 25. The gurdwara management stated that the preparation for the entire event was in full swing.

For the decoration of the gurdwara, over 35 lakh roses will be used and 50,000 bulbs will be installed in and around the gurdwara to add beauty to the event. The theme for the occasion comprises the roses and gold color decorations, including buntings, streamers and decorative drapes, along with other items, which have been listed out by the gurdwara management officials for the entire event. Manager, Gurdwara Nada Sahib, Narender Singh said, "Flower petals would be showered on the devotees on the first day of the event."

On the first day of the event, a Nagar kirtan will be taken out from the gurdwara, which will pass through all sectors of the town and return to the gurdwara premises through Majri chowk. The Akhand path will start on the first day at 10am, which will continue till 9am on December 25. The management with the permission of the local cops will record the entire event, especially the Nagar kirtan, by a drone camera.

Besides this, the three-day event will showcase the history of Sikhs. Schoolchildren will give different kinds of presentations in connection with the event while various bands and traditional dances and Sikh martial art will make the event colorful.

Siva Sena calls on Centre to initiate talks with Pak over Sikhs' 'forced-conversions'

The Shiv Sena on Thursday called on the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) at the Centre to initiate talks with Pakistan over reports of Sikhs being forced to convert to Islam in the Hangu district of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

The editorial published in Shiv Sena's mouthpiece, Saamana, also lashed out at the 'secularists' of India for keeping mum on this crucial issue of religious conversions.

"The Sikhs of Pakistan are in danger presently. When the Hindus were in trouble, the Sikhs came forward and fought for their rights. Now is the time for the Hindus and the secularists to come and fight for the rights of these minority Sikhs in Pakistan. The Government of India should take this up with the Pakistan Government," the article read.

Earlier on Saturday, a report surfaced in regard to Pakistan's Sikh community that alleged they were "being forced to convert to Islam" by a government official.

A delegation of Akali Dal, led by party president Sukhbir Singh Badal, met the Pakistan High Commissioner on Wednesday over the issue.

Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh also took to Twitter to apprise External Affairs Minister (EAM) Sushma Swaraj of the alleged forced conversions, urging her to take up the matter at the highest level with Pakistani authorities.

Swaraj then expressed concerns over the reports and has said she would take up the matter with Pakistan government at the earliest.

The Sikh community members of Pakistan had lodged a complaint with the Deputy Commissioner of Hangu district, Hangu Shahid Mehmood regarding the same. (ANI)

A Sikh elder who stashed away £150,000 in a secret Indian bank account while claiming thousands of pounds in pension credit has been spared jail.

Harcharan Singh Bola, 65, pocketed more than £26,000 over two years after lying about his family's wealth. 

The trickster, from Stenson Fields, Derby, told the Department of Work and Pensions in 2014 that he only had £1,500 in a UK joint account he shared with his wife.

But his fraud was uncovered after investigators were tipped-off that he was receiving interest from one of four bank accounts he held in his home country.

They were shocked to discover he had £150,375 cash in the overseas account.

However, the slippery pensioner avoided jail after a hearing at Derby Crown Court, where he was handed a 24-week sentence suspended for a year, as well as a 12-week curfew.

Judge Peter Cooke told him: 'This claim was fraudulent from the outset because you knew you had control of a bank account in India that held a substantial amount of money and you knew that a percentage of that was coming your way.

'At the age of 65 having your liberty restrained shows the disapproval those of us who pay our taxes, and who you chose to steal from, have for your offending.'

Cong MPs from Punjab raise issue of forced conversion of Sikhs in Pakistan with Sushma Swaraj

Chandigarh, Dec 21 (UNI) A delegation of Congress Members of Parliament from Punjab, led by Punjab Congress President Sunil Jakhar, today raised the issue of forced conversion of Sikhs in Pakistan with Union External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj.

Delegation members, including Mr Jakhar and Mr Ravneet Singh Bittu, said they were seriously concerned about the forced conversion of Sikhs in Pakistan and solicited Ministry’s urgent intervention in the matter to protect the identity of the Sikh community settled there.

Mr Jakhar said after Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh raised the issue, the External Affairs Minister has already directed the Indian High Commission in Pakistan to take it up at the highest level with Islamabad.

“However, we believe the matter to be extremely grave, therefore, it should be taken up personally by the Pakistani authorities without delay by Minister herself,” he added.

He added that media reports suggest that a government official is involved in spearheading the conversion campaign in Hangu district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province.

ਸ੍ਰੀ ਸਿਰਸਾ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਨਿਧਤਾ 'ਤੇ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਦਫਤਰ  ਨੇ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਤੇਸਭਿਆਚਾਰਕ ਮਾਮਲਿਆਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਮੰਤਰਾਲੇ ਤੋਂ ਰਿਪੋਰਟ ਮੰਗੀ ਹੈ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਫੈਸਲਾ ਲਾਗੂ ਕਰਨ ਲਈਇਹਨਾ ਦੋਹਾਂ ਮੰਤਰਾਲਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਸਹਿਮਤੀ ਜ਼ਰੂਰੀ ਹੈ। 

ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਦਫਤਰ ਦੇ ਰਿਪੋਰਟ ਮੰਗਣ 'ਤੇ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਾਵਾ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਸਿਰਸਾ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ  ਇਹਸਿੱਖ ਭਾਈਚਾਰੇ ਦੀ ਚਿਰੋਕਣੀ ਮੰਗ ਹੈ।  ਉਹਨਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਜਰਨੈਲ ਸਨ ਜਿਹਨਾਂ ਨੇਇਤਿਹਾਸਕ ਲਾਲ ਕਿਲ•ਾ ਫਤਿਹ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ ਤੇ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੁਗਲਾਂ 'ਤੇ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਜਿੱਤ ਨੂੰ ਸਹੀ ਭਾਵਨਾ ਵਿਚਦਰਸਾਇਆ ਜਾਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਜਰਨੈਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਬੁੱਤ ਛੇਤੀ ਤੋਂ ਛੇਤੀ ਲੱਗਣੇ ਚਾਹੀਦੇ ਹਨਤਾਂ ਕਿ ਸਾਡੀ ਨਵੀਂ ਪੀੜੀ ਮੁਗਲਾਂ 'ਤੇ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਫਤਿਹ ਤੋਂ ਜਾਣੂ ਹੋ ਸਕੇ।

ਇਸ ਇਤਿਹਾਸਕ ਘਟਨਾ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੰਦਿਆਂ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਸਿਰਸਾ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ 11 ਮਾਰਚ 1783 ਨੂੰ ਤਿੰਨਾਂਜਰਨੈਲਾਂ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਾਹ ਆਲਮ ਨੂੰ ਹਰਾਇਆ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਸੰਨ 1774 ਵਿਚ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਾਹਦਰਾ,ਪਹਾੜਗੰਜ ਤੇ ਜੈ ਸਿੰਘ ਪੁਰਾ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਜਿੱਤੇ ਸਨ। ਅੰਤਿਮ ਫਤਿਹ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਮਲਕਗੰਜ ਤੇਅਜਮੇਰੀਗੇਟ 'ਤੇ ਵੀ ਜਿੱਤ ਦਰਜ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ। PR
