    मंजिंदर सिंह सिरसा:तीसरा बाला प्रीतम दवाखाना पश्चिम पुरी में खोला जाएगा 

संगत तक बिना स्वार्थ सेवाएं पहुंचाने के लिए दिल्ली सिख गुरुद्वारा प्रबंधक कमेटी अग्रसर रहती है। इसके लिए समय- समय पर जरूरी कदम उठाए जाते रहते हैं। इस कड़ी में अब तीसरा बाला प्रीतम दवाखाना खोलने की तैयारी हो रही है। दिल्ली सिख गुरुद्वारा प्रबंधक कमेटी के अध्यक्ष श्री मंजिंदर सिंह सिरसा ने बताया कि कनॉट प्लेस और नॉर्थ दिल्ली के गुरुद्वारों में दवाखाना खोलने के बाद तीसरा दवाखाना पश्चिमपुरी में खोलना तय किया गया है। इसके लिए जगह भी फाइनल कर ली गई है। क्षेत्र के सिंह सभा गुरुद्वारे में ही यह दवाखाना खोला जाएगा। इसके खुल जाने से पश्चिमपुरी व उसके आसपास के क्षेत्र के लोग इसका फायदा उठा पाएंगे। उन्हें मार्केट रेट से कम दाम पर दवाइयां उपलब्ध हो सकेंगी। उन्होंने कहा कि अब तक जो दवाखाने खोले जा चुके हैं वहां सकारात्मक परिणाम देखने को मिल रहे हैं। ऐसे में हम धीरे-धीरे और भी जगहों पर दवाखाने खोलने की तैयारी कर रहे हैं।

बिना मुनाफे के दी जाती हैं दवाइयांः श्री सिरसा ने कहा कि महामाारी के चलते हर कोई आर्थिक तंगी से जूझ रहा है। जबकि इस दौर में लोगों को दवाओं की जरूरत भी सबसे ज्यादा पड़ रही है। इसी को देखते हुए 29 अगस्त 2020 को बंगला साहिब में पहला बाला प्रीतम दवाखाना खोला गया था। उन्होंने कहा कि इस दवाखाने पर फार्मेसी से सीधी दवाइयां आएंगी और जिस दर पर आएंगी उसी दर पर आगे संगत को प्रदान की जाएंगी। एक रुपये भी मुनाफा नहीं रखा जाएगा। उन्होंने बताया कि संगत को 20 से 90 प्रतिशत तक दवाइयां सस्ती मिलेंगी। चाहे जेनरिक हो, ब्रांडेड या पेटेंट हर तरह की दवाईंयां यहां लोगों को मिलेंगी।

संगत को रास आ रहा है दवाखानाः संगत को यह दवाखाना खूब रास आ रहा है। संगत इसका जमकर लाभ उठा रहे हैं। इसका अंदाजा इससे लगाया जा सकता है कि 4 नवंबर को नानक पियाऊ गुरुद्वारे में खोला गया बाला प्रीतम दवाखाने से अब तक 2 हजार से ज्यादा लोग दवाइयां ले चुके हैं। जबकि दोनों दवाखाना से अब तक 1 करोड़ से ज्यादा की दवाइयां बिक चुकी हैं। कुछ ही समय में यह कीर्तमान आंकड़ा बना लेने से जाहिर होता है कि यह दवाखाने संगतों के लिए कितना लाभकारी साबित हो रहे हैं।

नई दिल्ली, 22 नवम्बर: शेर ए पंजाब महाराजा रणजीत सिंह के नाम पर बनाया गया लंगर हाल संगतों को सर्पुद किया गया। इस मौके पर दिल्ली सिख गुरुद्वारा प्रबन्धक कमेटी अध्यक्ष मनजिन्दर सिंह सिरसा एवं पटेल नगर के विधायक राजकुमार द्वारा विषेश तौर पर पहुंचकर लंगर हाल का उद्घाटन किया जिसके पश्चात लंगर हाल संगतों के लिए खोल दिया गया है।

दिल्ली सिख गुरुद्वारा प्रबन्धक कमेटी के सलाहकार एवं स्थानीय वार्ड से सदस्य परमजीत सिंह चंडोक ने बताया कि संगतों की लम्बे समय से मांग थी कि रणजीत नगर का नाम बदलकर महाराजा रणजीत सिंह नगर करना चाहिए क्योंकि देश के इतिहास में महाराजा रणजीत सिंह का विशेष स्थान है और केवल वही एक राजा हुआ है जिसने अफगानिस्तान, काबुल कंधार को फतेह किया जिसे आज तक गौरे भी फतेह नहीं कर सके। उन्होंने धर्म निष्पेक्ष राजा का फर्ज निभाया और उनके राज में सभी धर्मों के लोगों को पूरी आजादी हुआ करती थी पर मौजूदा समय मे ंहम उनके नाम को भी छोटा करने में लगे हैं। इसी के चलते दिल्ली सिख गुरुद्वारा प्रबन्धक कमेटी अध्यक्ष मनजिन्दर सिंह सिरसा द्वारा उनके जन्मदिन पर सरकारों से गुहार लगाई कि रणजीत नगर का नाम बदलकर महाराजा रणजीत सिंह किया जाये और दिल्ली कमेटी द्वारा यहां के गुरुद्वारा साहिब में बने नए लंगर हाल का नाम भी महाराजा रणजीत सिंह के नाम पर रखा।

सः चंडोक ने बताया कि 250 लोगों की क्षमता वाला यह लंगर हाल पूरी तरह से वातानकुलित और आधुनिक सहूलतों से लैस है और इसके बनने से यहां के लोगों को अब अपने पारिवार में होने वाले शादी ब्याह, भोग आदि के कार्यक्रमों के लिए महंगे बैंकवेंट हाल नहीं ढूढने पड़ेंगे यहां पर वह अपने कार्यक्रमेां को कर सकेंगे। इसके अतिरिक्त गुरुपर्व एवं अन्य धार्मिक समागमों के दौरान भी कोई ऐसा हाल नहीं होने के कारण परेशानी होती थी पर अब वह आसानी के साथ यहां किये जा सकेंगे। इस मौके पर दिल्ली कमेटी की वरिष्ठ उपाध्यक्षा बीबी रणजीत कौर सहित बढ़ी गिनती में संगतें मौजूद रही।

नव नियुक्ति वाईस चेयरपर्सन द्वारा उन्हें सेवा दिये जाने के लिए दिल्ली कमेटी अध्यक्ष मनजिन्दर सिंह सिरसा, महासिचव हरमीत सिंह कालका का आभार प्रकट किया गया और खास तौर पर आभार प्रकट किया बीबी रणजीत कौर का जिन्होंने उन्हें इस काबिल समझा और दिल्ली कमेटी के विधयक संस्थान में महत्वपूर्ण जिम्मेवारी उन्हें दी उनकी पूरी कोशिश होगी कि अपनी जिम्मेवारी को बाखूबी निभायें। दोनों ही वाईसचेयरपर्सन का मानना है कि स्कूल में बच्चों की गिनती बढ़ाने पर खास जौर दिया जाना चाहिए और साथ ही उन्होंने स्कूल प्रबन्धन, प्रिसीपल एवं अन्य स्टाफ को पूर्ण सहयोग देने की बात भी कही।

DSGMC:Nagar Kirtan Will Not Be Taken Out On Gurpurab Due To Covid

गुरु नानक देव जी का प्रकाश पर्व 30 नवंबर को मनाया जाएगा, लेकिन इस बार आयोजन का स्वरूप बदला जा रहा है। दिल्ली सिख गुरुद्वारा प्रबंधन कमेटी में धर्म प्रचार के चेयरमेन श्री जतिंद्रपाल सिंह गोल्डी ने बताया कि कोविड महामारी के चलते आयोजन में इस बार कुछ प्रमुख बदलाव किए गए हैं। कमेटी और सिंह सभाओं ने बैठक कर तय किया है कि इस बार नगर कीर्तन नहीं निकाला जाएगा। उन्होंने कहा कि दिल्ली में कोरोना की स्थिति को देखते हुए यह काफी जरूरी भी था। हालांकि गुरुपर्व के मौके पर सभी एतिहासिक गुरुद्वारों में कीर्तन-कथा पूर्व की तरह आयोजित की जाएंगी। उन्होंने कहा कि इस समय महामारी का दौर चल रहा है कि ऐसे में हम सभी की जिम्मेदारी है कि संक्रमण को फैलने से रोकने में अपना सहयोग दें। कमेटी अपने जिम्मेदारियों को बखूबी समझती है इसीलिए इस बार नगर कीर्तन नहीं निकालने का निर्णय लिया गया है।

स. गोल्डी ने बताया कि बेशक नगर कीर्तन नहीं निकाला जाएगा, लेकिन 30 नवंबर को बंगला साहब गुरुद्वारा में भव्य कथा-कीर्तन का आयोजन किया जाएगा। यह बहुत ही खास होने वाला है। इसके लिए दिल्ली से बाहर के रागियों को भी बुलाया गया है। सुबह 5 बजे से रात 12 बजे तक कथा-कीर्तन का कार्यक्रम चलता रहेगा। सिंह साहब ज्ञानी राणजीति सिंह गौहर ए मस्कीन जी जत्थेदार तखत श्री पटना साहब कथा करेंगे। जबकि कीर्तन के लिए भाई राविंद्र सिंह जी दरबार साहब, भाई हरजौत सिंह जख्मी जालंधर, भाई चमनजीत सिंह जी दिल्ली वाले, भाई अरशदीप सिंह जी लुधियाना के जत्थों की तरफ से कीर्तन किया जाएगा। कथा-कीर्तन का सीधा प्रसारण अनेका चैनल, वेबसाइट और सोशल मीडिया प्लैटफॉर्म पर भी किया जाएगा।
स. गोल्डी ने कहा कि बंगला साहब के अलावा अन्य एतिहासिक गुरुद्वारों में भी कथा-कीर्तन का आयोजन सुबह से लेकर रात 12 बजे तक किया जाएगा। इस दौरान कोविड नियमों का पूरी तरह से पालन करना सुनिश्चित किया गया है। 

गुरुद्वारों में सोशल डिस्टेंसिंग का ख्याल रखा जाएगा। निगरानी के लिए सेवादार तैनात रहेंगे। साथ ही सभी गुरुद्वारों में सैनिटाइजर की पर्याप्त व्यवस्था भी कर दी गई है। सभी को कोविड दिशा-निर्देशों का सख्ती से पालन करने की हिदायत दी गई है। साथ ही लोगों से भी अपील की जा रही है वह अभी अपनी जिम्मेदारियों को समझते हुए नियमों का पालन करें। स. गोल्डी पे दिल्ली की सभी सिंह सभाओं को भी बेनती की है वह भी अपने-अपने इलाके के गुरुद्वारा साहिब में करवाये जाने वाले समागमों में सोशल डिस्टैसिंग और अन्य जरूरी सुविधाओं का खास ध्यान रखें।

Guru Tegh Bahadur Scholarship:Scholarship Founded By The Local Sikh Community For Brandon University (BU) Students

Scholarship established in honour of Guru Tegh Bahadur, who sacrificed his life to protect Human Rights

A new scholarship founded by the local Sikh community will support Brandon University (BU) students who demonstrate an interest in studying human rights issues.

Seventeen members of the Brandon’s Sikh community have raised $11,520 to date to establish a scholarship in honour of Guru Tegh Bahadur, a key leader in the history of Sikhism. 

The scholarship, valued at approximately $500 annually, will be awarded in alternating years to students in BU’s Sociology and Gender and Women’s Studies programs who have demonstrated high academic performance in courses that deal with the subject of human rights.

Known as the “Shield of India,” Guru Bahadur traveled extensively throughout India, spreading his mission of human rights, before he was executed in 1675 for refusing to renounce Sikhism. His martyrdom is celebrated each year on Nov. 24.

“Guru Tegh Bahadur sacrificed his life for the human rights and dignity of humankind,” said Ramjit Singh Mann, one of the leaders of the effort to create the scholarship. 

“This scholarship would present an opportunity to recognize and raise awareness about human rights violations around the world. Sikhs are strong believers in education and believe that all humankind has the right to education. We feel our small contributions toward establishing the Guru Tegh Bahadur Scholarship for Human Rights is one of the best ways to help youth in education."

Salman Khan Plays A Sikh Cop to Aayush Sharma’s Marathi Gangster in "Antim" Movie

Salman Khan has played a police officer in several notable films such as Garv (2004), Wanted (2009), and Dabangg (2010), but his cop character in filmmaker Mahesh Manjrekar’s Antim: The Final Truth is going to be starkly different. According to reports, Salman Khan essays the character of a Sikh cop in the upcoming film, which features his brother-in-law, Aayush Sharma, in the lead role of a gangster.

“The cop being Sikh is the sole reason for Salman to do Antim, as he has not done a character like this before. He is beefing up, increasing his beard as he will be seen playing a tough, intense, and real Sikh cop, and wear the turban too. There are larger-than-life elements in the script, but this cop has his own swag, and style of functioning. 

Antim: The Final Truth is the official adaptation of the successful Marathi film, Mulshi Pattern (2018). In the original film, the cop’s character had only 25 minutes of screen time, but the remake is going to have the character running parallel to Aayush Sharma’s track with a runtime of approximately 50 minutes. In spite of that, the gangster continues to remain the central character.

‘Singh/Kaur’ :-SGPC-Run University Allows Last-Minute Name Change to Add ‘Singh/Kaur’ For Sikh Quota Seats

Every Sikh student must also give in written that "I have the word 'Singh' or 'Kaur' affixed to my name”.

The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC)-run Sri Guru Ramdas University of Health Sciences Amritsar has said it has no objection to last-minute name changes by candidates to be eligible for the MBBS seat under Sikh minority quota.

The university has 75 minority quota seats for which only Sikh students can apply. However, the list of candidates uploaded by Baba Farid University of Health and Sciences (BFUHS) Faridkot for the Sikh minority quota had at least eight such names which were not affixed with ‘Singh’ or ‘Kaur’.

To claim the seats under minority quota, Sikh students have to submit an affidavit which reads, “That I am Sikh and belong to the Sikh community. I practise the Sikh faith, maintain Sikh appearance and do not cut or trim my hair; including hair on my eyebrows. I have faith only in the ten Sikh gurus and Sri Guru Granth Sahib and do not owe allegiance to any other sect or religion.”

A candidate must also declare further that “I shall continue maintaining the Sikh appearance during the course of my studies and thereafter”.

Every Sikh student must also give in written that “I have the word ‘Singh’ or ‘Kaur’ affixed to my name”.

However, sources said some students who sat for the NEET test without Singh or Kaur affixed to their name have changed their name before applying under minority quota.

US House Hailed For Recognising Guru Tegh Bahadur’s Service To Humanity

         

Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib in Chandni Chowk, New Delhi, is the place of martyrdom of Guru Teg Bahadur.

The Chief Khalsa Diwan (CKD) on Monday acclaimed the New York (the US) Assembly for recognising Guru Tegh Bahadur as the protector of human rights and the Sikh community for its selfless deeds worldwide, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Members of the World Sikh Parliament’s Councils for Religion along with Civil and Human Rights organised the 345th martyrdom day and the 400th birth anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur at the Gurdwara Sikh Center of New York recently. On the occasion, state and city officials from New York joined members of the Sikh community and recognised Guru Tegh Bahadur’s sacrifices to uphold human rights and justice.

CKD president Nirmal Singh said it was a proud moment that the Guru’s birthday and martyrdom day would be commemorated in the New York Legislative Assembly which had passed a resolution in this regard.

Dharam Prachar Committee chairman Bhag Singh Ankhi and honorary secretary Swainder Singh Kathunangal said, “The move has further enhanced the dignity of the Sikh community globally. The community’s social service beyond racial discrimination also won accolades and Sikhs have won the heart of the local government on foreign soil,” they said.

'Singh Thattha' Technique :UK Team Trials 'Singh Thattha' to Protect Bearded Doctors on COVID Frontline

Dr Safri, a Dentist based in Hampshire, said 'Singh Thattha'  technique also helps overcome crucial cost and supply issues associated with high-level PPE.

A UK research team's innovative beard covering technique, dubbed as the "Singh Thattha", which enables bearded medics to wear a well-fitting respirator mask while on frontline COVID-19 duties without the need for shaving has proved effective in initial trials.

The team, led by Professor Randhawa from University of Bedfordshire and Dr Rajinder Pal Singh, sought to work on a solution following numerous calls by Public Health England (PHE) to protect doctors from ethnic minorities, including Sikh, Jewish and Muslim communities, who tend to have beards for religious reasons.

"Because shaving was a mandatory pre-requisite for wearing respirator masks, many members of the faith-observant bearded community, such as Sikh, Jewish and Muslim, have been affected and have had to face the dilemma of redeployment from frontline healthcare jobs involving exposure to COVID-19," said Randhawa, Professor of Diversity in Public Health at the University of Bedfordshire and Director of the university's Institute for Health Research.

Manchester-based transplant surgeon Dr Rajinder Pal Singh came up with the idea of using an under-mask beard cover, or a beard band traditionally referred to as the 'thattha' by Sikhs, to allow him to wear an FFP3 respirator mask – an essential personal protective equipment (PPE) for frontline medics – and his innovation ended up passing the National Health Service (NHS) qualitative Fit Test.

According to the University of Bedfordshire, an initial trial meant that there appeared to be a choice – that shaving may not be essential to don a respirator mask.

The partnership between Prof. Randhawa and Dr Singh led to an in-depth study of the promising and innovative alternative.
