Manjinder Singh Sirsa:Whole nation with farmers, will not allow any sort of aggression
New Delhi,
December 22 : The Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee (DSGMC) President
and National Spokesman of the Shiromani Akali Dal Mr. Manjinder Singh Sirsa
today rushed to Rampur in UP after receiving reports of police aggression on
farmers coming from Bareily to Delhi protests.
On the way
he also warned UP Police personnel against removing flags of farmers from the
tractor trolleys, cars and other modes of transport. He said that it is well
within their rights to install such flags of their organizations as they all
are farmers.
Late evening Mr.
Sirsa reached Moga Dhaba in Rampur where the UP police has detained farmers
coming to Delhi. He talked with local authorities and urged them to free the
farmers as it is their constitutional right to protest which has also been
upheld by Supreme Court in this matter. He said that if the police will not
release farmers then they will increase presence of their supporters from local
area as these farmers haven’t done anything wrong.
He
disclosed that about three thousand farmers have been detained at Rampur toll
plaza by UP police. These farmers were coming from Bareily. He said that in a
inhuman act police even picked up people who were reciting Gurbani and this act
of the police is nothing less than blasphemy.
He said
that UP police should not think that farmers are alone. He said that whole
nation has stood with farmers and if anybody including police will try to use
any type of force against the peacefully protesting this farmers then all the
peace loving people will teach these elements a lesson.
Apart from Mr. Sirsa, Manjit Singh aulakh,Harmeet Singh, Jasmer Noni Mann,Gurmeet Singh Bhatia and Sarbjit SinghVirk were also part of delegation which reached Rampur to rescue farmers.
