A high level delegation of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management
Committee (DSGMC) led by President Manjinder Singh Sirsa today met Maharashtra
Home Minister and DGP to take up issue of Sikhs arrested on Hola Mohalla in the
state.
Sirsa had led
delegation to state after Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal had taken up
issue with state Home Minister Dalip Valse Patil on phone.After the meeting,
Sirsa disclosed that Home Minister has assured us of justice with arrested
Sikhs and has promise their early release. He disclosed that after
meeting with Home Minister DSGMC delegation met state DGP Sunil Pandey who also
assured similar action on priority.DSGMC delegation
included members Sarvjit Singh Virk, Inderjit Singh Monty and Vikram Singh
Rohini besides others.Manjider Singh Sirsa
also disclosed that DSGMC delegation will meet Nanded Sahib IG tomorrow to take
up the matter. He said that 24 Sikhs had been arrested and are now in jails
whereas several others have fled from their homes.
He also disclosed that
he had briefed Akal Takht Sahib Jatherdar Giani Harpreet Singh ji on the
matter. He said that they were following orders of Jathedar Kulwant Singh
Jathedar Nanded Sahib and Baba Balwinder Singh Incharge Langar.
He said that he has
apprised Giani Harpreet Singh ji that arrested Sikhs will be freed soon and the
DSGMC will pursue their case so as to ensure that cases against them are
dismissed by local courts.
