New Delhi, October 23: Manjinder Singh Sirsa,President,DSGMC has appealed to Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray to ensure the safety of Manjeet Kaur, a Sikh woman who was attacked in Mumbai yesterday 22nd October and also to ensure that no false police case is registered against her.
Manjinder Singh Sirsa said Manjit Kaur was attacked by an auto driver and beaten up in the middle of the road. She used the sword in her defense following the path shown by Sikh Gurus. He said that Gurus has preached to raise voice against oppression and for righteous
cause. Whatever Manjit Kaur did, she did it for her own self-defense and while
protesting against the atrocities being perpetrated on her. This is clearly a
case of self-defense in which no action can be taken against Manjit Kaur
He also appealed
that action should be taken against the auto driver who stands under the house
of Manjit Kaur and also threatens her daughter. Authorities should make sure
that he does not stand under their house again.
Manjinder Singh
Sirsa reminded Uddhav Thackeray that Bal Thackeray had a lot of love for Sikhs
and not a single Sikh was killed in Maharashtra even during the 1984 Sikh
massacre. He hoped that Uddhav Thackeray would also follow this policy and
ensure that justice is done to the Sikhs.
