Harmeet Singh Kalka, President and Jagdip Singh Kahlon,
General Secretary, Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) has
informed the media that Delhi Sikh Committee will send a 20-member delegation
to help the stranded people in Ukraine. The delegation will comprise of senior
members, staff and volunteers.
The delegation will be divided into two parts- one part will visit to border of
Poland and other will visit to Slovakia to help the stranded people
there. Special camps will be organized there to distribute langar,
medical assistance and extend all possible assistance to the stranded people on
humanitarian grounds. They said after the war, the situation gets worsened and
people need much more assistance. DSGMC deems its duty to send the delegation
to serve the people in distress.
Kalka and Kahlon further said that DSGMC stands in the forefront to provide its
services to needy people at the time of natural calamities. In the past, DSGMC
has done commendable service whenever the country needed for example at the
time of natural calamities in Uttrakhand, Gujarat, Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh,
Punjab and in Nepal and other places in abroad. The motto of the DSGMC is to
serve the humanity following the teachings of our Guru Sahibs.
