Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management committee
will receive Rupees 25 Crore from Government of Punjab as expenditure on
tercentenary celebrations of martyrdom day of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur. The
Deputy Chief Minister of Government of Punjab Sukhbir Singh Badal made this
announcement when he today visited 7.5 acre park built by the Gurdwara
Committee in Mehrauli in New Delhi in which a memorial is constructed in memory
of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur. President of the Delhi committee Manjit Singh
G.K. General Secretary Manjinder Singh Sirsa and Senior Leaders of Shiromani
Akali Dal Avtar Singh Hit, Onkar Singh Thapar and Kuldeep Singh Bhogal
explained to Sukhbir Singh Badal about the works done by Gurdwara committee in
building the park.
Sukhbir Singh Badal assured the Gurdwara
Committee that the Government of Punjab will give more money if required to
make park a matchless land mark in the national capital. He directed the
Gurdwara Committee to plan tercentenary celebrations in best possible manner
and also convey the History of Sikh Generals to the Sikhs masses and general
public. He asked the Gurdwara Committee to make the memorial in such a way that
it is revered by the People living in India and in foreign countries. He also
talked of memorials being built by the Government of Punjab in the state.
