Conmen feared to be prowling Sikh community

SIKH residents fear sick conmen are prowling their neighbourhoods warning of "bad luck" if they refuse to donate to their charity.

Groups of up to 10 and 15 men wearing Sikh turbans have been spotted asking for money in the Merton Road area of Seven Kings.

It is thought the twisted fraudsters ask for up to £500 at a time and often target elderly residents.

One woman who donated £200 to the alleged cause after they called round at her mother's house now fears she may have been conned.

She said: "They said it was for a hospital in India and wanted £500.
