DSGMC Targets CBI Officers For Slow Pace of Investigations into 1984 Genocide

New Delhi / 11 July 2016
The President of Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee Manjit Singh G.K. (DSGMC) today criticised the officials of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for slow pace of investigations into 1984 Sikh genocide in which hundreds of innocent Sikhs were done to death in most merciless manner.

G.K. said due to slow pace of investigations by CBI it failed to file complete chargesheet in Sikh genocide case against Congress party leader Jagdish Tytler in Karkardomma court today, which is highly unfortunate. He said that carelessness on the part of CBI will not be accepted at any cost. He raised questions on functioning of CBI while he said that working of SIT was satisfactory.

G.K. said that DSGMC advocates Avtar Singh and Lakhmi Chand opposed the counsels of CBI and proposed to send teams to Canada to bring evidences. As CBI sought more time for filing complete chargesheet taking the plea that interpol is taking time to give evidence in the case, G.K. objected to it and asked why CBI is not investigating role of a company which has sent money through hawala to witness in Canada.

G.K. said that he will take up the matter of slow pace of investigations by CBI before Home Minister of Government of India and demand transfer of CBI officers who are slow in performing their duties. DSGMC president alleged that some officers in CBI are opposed to Sikhs due to which the investigations have suffered.

Referring to reply of a letter written by him to Home Ministry on 10 June 2016 demanding shifting of SIT from Delhi police to other state police, G.K. said the home ministry has replied that talks are on with the police of other states.

DSGMC president who is also present of Shiromani Akali Dal in Delhi said that Home Ministry has said that a senior level officer of ministry is supervising the pace of work of SIT and it is also considering the options of making genocide victims’ families meeting the SIT.

AAP Dubbed 'Anti-Sikh Party' After Kejriwal's Pic on Punjab Youth Manifesto Goes Viral

With holy Sikh shrine Golden Temple in the background, the photograph depicts Kejriwal with folded hands and party symbol which is a broom

The chief minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday began his three-day trip to Punjab ahead of elections due in the state in 2017. Kejriwal addressed a public gathering in Amritsar and also released the youth manifesto here.
He was accompanied by AAP MP from Sangrur in Punjab, Bhagwant Mann. Now, there is something controversial about the cover picture of the AAP manifesto that Twitter is going all brouhaha over it. The photograph depicts Kejriwal with folded hands with the holy Sikh shrine, Golden Temple in the background.
However, what has hurt the Sikh community is the symbol of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) which is a broom appearing over the water of the sarovar on the cover photo. Another issue with the picture is that Kejriwal is not looking at the camera.
Some people have alleged that Kejriwal is trying to equate his youth manifesto with the holy Sikh book 'Guru Granth Sahib' while others blamed AAP's Sikh members who did not make any effort to stop Kejriwal from taking such a step.
Meanwhile, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal took a dig at AAP and castigated the party for committing sacrilege by insulting the living guru- Guru Granth Sahab ji. "This is an act of blasphemy which has hurt the sentiments of the Sikh community worldwide and we condemn it as such,” Badal asserted.
Calling Kejriwal and top AAP leadership outsiders, Badal further added, "For me as a Sikh it is galling to learn how this new party has attacked the very identity and heritage of the Sikhs. Members of the Sikh community have also brought this base act to my notice. I assure the entire community that the SAD will fulfil its responsibility and raise its voice against this wanton act aimed at diluting Sikh identity and culture."

DSGMC : Comments Against Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Martyrdom Commemorative Function Unwanted

New Delhi / 5 July 2016 –
The Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) today termed the comments made by some people on the programme organised by Punjab government in New Delhi on 3rd July to commemorate tercentenary of martyrdom day of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur in which Prime Minister Narendra Modi took part as inappropriate and unwanted. DSGMC and Shiromani Akali Dal spokesman Parminder Pal Singh suggested opponents to praise the good work.

He said that attending of tercentenary function by PM Modi is a welcome step but some people with petty thinking are criticising it and have even appealed to the people to boycott it. Despite a boycott people in large number came to take part in the function, he said.“The appeal to boycott the function was rejected and the people who gave the call are frustrated now, and to cover up their failure they now are now making false and wrongful allegations of opposing Sikh ideology in the function”, said Parminder Pal Singh. He questioned that those who got installed statue of Mater Tara Singh outside Gurdwara Rakabganj Sahib on 8 January 2003 by BJP leaders, how can they now say that installing a statue is as per ideology of RSS.

The rise of Sikhs in the government circles due to the efforts of DSGMC is not digested by the opponents, said Parminder Pal Singh. “In the commemorative function Prime Minister, finance minister, home minister, information and broadcasting minister, human resource development, food processing minister and telecommunication minister were present and this shows importance of Sikhs and DSGMC for the Union government”, he said.He reminded the opponents that during inauguration of Guru Tegh Bahadur Memorial at Singhu border on 29 July 2011 in a government function in which President DSGMC of those days Paramjit Singh Sarna was not allowed to sit on the dais with congress leader Rahul Gandhi. He adds that in the commemorative function of 3rd July present President of DGSMC Manjit Singh G.K. played key role in the function and in an impressive manner he managed the proceedings on the stage.

He added during term of Previous President of DSGMC, then PM Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh despite being a Sikh kept himself away from a function organised by DSGMC, despite the fact that Previous committee freely distributed  Siropas to the Congress leaders. He suggested the opponents that they should leave aside the divisive methods and support DSGMC in positive works.
