Delhi Sikh Gurdwara management committee has set up Guru Tegh Bahadur Academy to provide free training to aspirant IAS/IPS central civil services Sikh students aimed at promoting exclusively Sikh children's in civil services.
This will be first such institute to exclusively train rigorously Sikh students for UPSC examination in the country.
Manjinder Singh Sirsa President DSGMC said "Guru Tegh Bahadur Academy has been set up under the Chairmanship of Mr.Vikram Sahni (Philanthropist and President World Punjabi Organization ) with an aim to increase representation of the Sikh Community in the developmental process of the Nation."
Selected Sikh
candidates will be sponsored to the prestigious Pvt IAS/Civil Services
training institutions in National Capital for providing coaching classes for
civil services and DSGMC will pay their fees and will also provide them
with free boarding and lodging facilities in order to increase the
participation of Sikh Community in governance.
All Sikh students who have passed civil services Preliminary examination are automatically eligible for intensive residential coaching and mentoring sponsored besides other talented and dedicated students by DSGMC .
DSGMC will also provide free boarding lodging facilities round the year to Sikh Students in National Capital to facilitate the meritorious students to crack the prestigious examinations.
DSGMC has tied up with prestigious IAS/Civil Services coaching training centres in New Delhi where all such students will be sponsored for training and DSGMC will bear 85% expenditure of the fees of the coaching institutes for each student and DSGMC will also bear 100% expenditure of the students from economically weaker section of the Society to enable them to compete with the privileged sections.
DSGMC has set up a five members Expert Committee headed by retired Sikh IAS/IPS officers to select dedicated and intelligent Sikh students for sponsorship to provide wings to the dream of such meritorious students.
Training is likely to be started by the end of
December 2020 and the process of inviting applications and counseling and selection
of students is under process by the expert committee of retired IAS/IPS Sikh
Officers.
The scheme will
be a step towards placing future generations of Sikh Community into
administrative services. The whole idea is to bring out the
talented youths from the Sikh community serve the country by joining the
administrative services.
