A Sikh man was racially abused and had his turban stolen as he stood at a bus stop in Southampton.

The 29-year-old man was approached by a group of five drunken men outside the Civic Centre on Tuesday evening.

Police said the group shouted and swore at passers-by before racially abusing the Sikh man as they walked past.

The man turned away to ignore them but one of them pulled his turban off his head before running away with it towards the train station.
