In the wake of the gunning down of four marines at military facilities in Tennessee by a Muslim youth with “unshorn beard”, a Sikh rights group has asked Sikh-American community members to exercise caution as they become vulnerable to hate crimes following such incidents.
The caution came after a 24-year-old gunman opened fire at two US military centres in Tennessee yesterday, killing four marines in a rampage that officials said was being probed as an act of “domestic terrorism.” The shooter was identified by the FBI as Mohammod Youssuf Abdulazeez.

India and France share long-standing strategic and diplomatic ties, which the latter now wants to make stronger by going beyond these parameters and moving towards cultural relationship by connecting dots from the past and shared history.
France will in September 2016 commemorate historic ties it has had with Punjab by unveiling a statue of Maharaja Ranjit Singh along with a statue of General Jean-François Allard, who served as the military adviser to the king of Punjab from 1822 till his death in 1839 while defending Punjab on an official assignment.
Allard was among the battery of Frenchmen serving in the army of the Maharaja and rose to become the key military adviser to the king, in the process helping him modernise his army to take on the British.
Gen Allard took major part in the creation and training of the Fauj-i-khas, the “special” or “royal” brigade of the Maharaja. Tropezian Jean-François Allard, an officer in the Napoleon’s army, was exiled in India in 1822, but his military knowledge made him the chief commander of the troops of Maharaja Ranjit Singh.

Hang out with the Honda Jazz at the Buddh International
Circuit was a great fun. It was a double excitement for all of us as we were invited
to drive the new Honda Jazz and that too, at the India’s Formula one racing tracks at
BIC.
The biggest product comeback of 2015 looked quite
impressive. The features of the new car were explained to us by none other than the V Channel VJ, UD. We came to know that it had a fuel efficient 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engine along
with the potent 1.2-litre petrol mill. The new hatch will have the City's
6-speed manual transmission and will be paired with the 1.5-litre i-DTEC
diesel.
The fuel efficiency of the Honda Jazz with a diesel engine is said to be 27.3 Km/l where as Honda claims that the petrol CVT
delivers 19 Km/l, while mileage claims on the manual are at 18.7 Km/l. Honda
has made certain changes in the dimensions of the car which is slightly longer
by 55 mm and wheelbase
marginally up by 30 mm.
We were offered the two versions of Honda Jazz
i.e. the Automatic one & the manual. The combination of Honda Jazz as well
the BIC had filled the utmost energy in us. In the meantime, BIC team explained
us about the risk factors of the Formula one Track & instructed us with the do’s and don’t. They requested us to follow the guidelines very strictly as
they had over 50 cams at various locations to keep an eye on us.
We selected our model & soon we were driving Honda Jazz at the
Formula one Racing arena at the Buddh International circuit at Greater Noida. We
had the comfort, space, technology, power, mileage and innovation in our hands.
We were almost flying on the tracks at various speed levels to enjoy the ride.
It was a great fun. It was amazing.
We had a chat with Mr Katsushi Inoue,
President & CEO of Honda Cars India Ltd. Even he was very eager to explain
us about the new technology. Please view a small video covering the entire
event with Honda Jazz at the Buddh International Circuit.
